Finding Your Unique Purpose

It’s amazing that no matter who you are, where you come from or what you have, the one thing we all have in common is that we each have our unique purpose on this planet, and somewhere deep inside, we each want to know what that is. So how do you find your purpose? It seems like a daunting task, right? Where do you begin? Well, finding your purpose starts with finding your passion. If you had all the money in the world and the freedom to do anything, what would that be? If you could remove all your fears and insecurities, where would that lead you?

It’s hard to get anywhere without asking yourself these questions about life, passion and desire. Don’t be afraid to dream. So often we mistake desire for ego, greed, selfishness and the like. But without desire, nothing would get accomplished. We are a creative bunch and we create out of desire. The problem isn’t desire; it’s having and acting upon inauthentic desire bread out of ego. So when you think about your passions and desires, really think about what motivates them. Is it something that resonates with your soul? Is it something inexplicable?

Is it a strong intuitive pull? Does it match up with you talents? These are all good questions to ask yourself. It’s the motivation behind the desire that truly holds the attraction power. It is the emotion behind the desire that creates the momentum. That said, if your motivations are largely rooted in ego needs, the resulting manifestations won’t bring you the ultimate fulfillment you seek. Why do think so many people who seem to “have it all” are unhappy? It’s not about appearances. It’s about what you truly believe and feel inside. The way to bliss is living on purpose. The way to living on purpose is asking questions.

So in the spirit of keeping it simple, first, decide on what you want. Then, figure out why you want it. These two basic and simple questions will get you started in the right direction of finding your purpose. Be honest with yourself and feel free to dream big. Leave your inhibitions and fears at the door. Be open to the answers you receive.
