WoW Druid Macro for a Resto Druid Build
A Druid is a very difficult class to play, and with all of the different roles, the sheer number of abilities at your disposal can become overwhelming. Using a WoW Druid Macro, or several, can help simplify your action bars, and save you precious time that can prevent an entire raid wipe.
As a resto druid, every second counts when trying to keep your raid alive. Using macros can literally cut your targeting and casting time in half, simply because you are removing unnecessary steps. Here are two examples of simple WoW Druid Macros for a Raiding Resto Druid.
Focus Macros – This is usually going to be your tank. You can take this and apply it to any spell in your book and really for any spec, but it works best for tank healing. The reason being, that you need to keep a constant eye on the tank and make sure that lifebloom is running three stacks, always. I put this macro on my number 1 key, and make sure that it’s constantly running on my focus target at all times.
/cast [target=focus] Lifebloom
Using this WoW Druid Macro can save you from accidentally casting Lifebloom on one of your other raid members. Since you can only have Lifebloom on one target at a time, you want to make sure it stays on the tank. The exception is when you use Tree of Life Form and Lifebloom is enhanced to be cast on an unlimited number of targets. In that case, you may want a second type of Macro.
Mouseover Macros – This can save you much more time than you realize. Without having to actually select a target, you simply need to hover your cursor over either your target character, or their frame in the party display. In a large pull or long fight, this can save you a few dozen or even a hundred clicks of your mouse, which can indeed save you some vital casting time. Essentially, this can be tailored to any spell in your book, and it should be. In fact, I have repeated this spell macro for Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Regrowth, Nourish, Healing Touch, Swiftmend, and even some offensive and CC spells like cyclone and roots.
/cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][help][target=player] Rejuvenation
These are just a few examples of what you can do with Resto Druid Macros. In fact, the possibilities are limitless. These two macros can even be applied to feral DPS, Tanking, or Balance. You will have to tailor them some but you can imagine how these would be incredibly useful in all of the Druid’s different forms.
The top players in World of Warcraft all use Macros and keybinds to optimize their performance in Raids, PvP and even solo play. However, Macros can be confusing, and if you have one wrong letter in place, the entire macro is broken. I use a macro and keybinding tool that has all the best macros in place so you don’t have to spend hours studying these confusing pieces of code.
